FASO SPORTS PROGRAM
MORE THAN THE GAME
FASO Flag Football will create opportunities for youth and young adults to learn the game, sharpen their athletic skills, compete safely, and build meaningful relationships. Through passing, receiving, route running, defense, flag pulling, conditioning, and team strategy, athletes will develop confidence, discipline, communication, leadership, and respect.
SKILLS & FUNDAMENTALS
FASO clinics will help athletes improve throwing mechanics, catching, route running, footwork, agility, speed, ball security, flag pulling, and defensive positioning. Instruction will meet athletes at their current level—from beginners learning the game to experienced players refining their technique, timing, and decision-making.
STRATEGY & TEAM PLAY
Players will learn how every position contributes to the team through offensive formations, route concepts, defensive coverage, communication, timing, and situational awareness. Training will reinforce safe non-contact play while helping athletes understand how preparation, trust, and intelligent decisions create successful teams.
LEAGUES & COMPETITION
As participation grows, FASO will develop small-sided games, short seasonal leagues, tournaments, and championship opportunities. Competition formats and divisions will be organized according to participation, age, experience, and the needs of the athletes involved. Every program will emphasize preparation, safe play, fair officiating, sportsmanship, respect, and schedules that honor faith, family, and Sabbath commitments.
FAITH, CHARACTER & LEADERSHIP
Flag football gives athletes repeated opportunities to communicate, make decisions under pressure, respond constructively to mistakes, and place the team before themselves. Through mentorship and community, FASO will encourage athletes to compete with integrity, lead through service, care for others, and carry Christ’s values beyond the field.
